22 year of the Medicine Hat Farmers' Market kicks off Saturday, May 18 and runs every Saturday through until October 5.  The Farmers’ Market continues to be a staple at the Stampede Grounds, thanks to the many vendors who participate and the public who generously supports them. 

This year will see all the familiar vendors as well as many new ones, as the popularity of the market grows. 

Fresh produce, homemade baking, fruits, meats, crafts, jewellery, wines, fresh roasted coffee and many more items to choose from. 

The market opens it’s doors at 9am at the Cypress Centre every Saturday until October 5. Admission is always free!

Due to unforeseen circumstances The Medicine Hat All Breed Horse Show will be having a change of Judge for the Saturday and Sunday Classes. 

Welcome Janice Gagnon of Sundre,  Alberta as our General Performance Judge. Janice is AEF Provincial Judge, and a Sr. EC General Performance Judge.  

With such an excellent response to the Dressage, we reached or 65 test limit by the 17th of June. We are pleased to announce that we have hired a second Judge Sarah Southwell, of Lethbridge, Alberta. Sarah is a carded WSDAC Judge and will be Judging our Western Dressage Classes. We have opened an additional 35 ride times, allowing us a total of 100 tests. The Show committee will do our best in scheduling to assure that there are no conflicts with times.The Second Dressage Ring will not be set up in the Sand ring.

**Green Horse classes English and Western Classes specifically for a Horse of any age that is its 1st year of showing, horses will be expected to Walk, Jog/Trot and Lope/Canter

**Novice Horse or Rider Reining, will be a modified Reining Pattern will be expected lope

Annual Stampede Parade

The parade is organized by a committee of dedicated volunteers and community supporters.

Your entry into the Medicine Hat Exhibition and Stampede parade is a richly rewarding experience for you to get involved in. It is a great way to build teamwork, pride and community spirit within your organization while giving back to our community and having fun in the process. There is nothing like parading your civic pride, come and showcase your product and  celebrate our western heritage.

PARADE APPLICATION FORM DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES: The MHES Parade Committee MUST RECEIVE all Application documents with full description by July 19, 2019 at 4:00PM. Partcipants must then provide a suitable Certificate of Insurance. Due to the high number of applications each year, LATE or INCOMPLETE Applications may not be accepted.

SAFETY: All participants are responsible for ensuring that the design and operation of their Entry is safe and reliable.

AUTOMOBILES: these are not permitted as an Entry.  Exceptions are entries under the details of CLASS 11 – Antique Cars, Trucks and Tractors. Should you wish to supply an antique automobile for other parade committee considerations please contact by email: mhstampede@mhstampede.com  

SPONSORSHIP/COMMERCIALISM: Recognition of commercial sponsors is acceptable, provided that it is done tastefully, meets MHES Parade Standard and the commercial message does not dominate the Entry. The MHES Parade Committee reserves the right to reject blatantly commercialized Entries.

FINAL DECISION: The MHES Parade Committee will make the final decision on the acceptance or rejection of all entry applications and may limit the number of entries in any one category.

ALL ENTRIES MUST BE 80% DECORATED: To assure that the quality of the floats is maintained for the viewing public, all vehicles and flat decks, etc. must be clean and decorated to a minimum of 80% coverage. Exceptions are as specified within the applicable class. Vehicles not meeting this requirement will be refused entry at the discretion of the Parade Marshall

About The Ride
Horses have always been an important part of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). In the early years, they were used for transportation, but now they are a central part of the world-renowned spectacle that is a living symbol of Canada - the Musical Ride. 

About the Pre-Show
The Dunmore Equestrian Centre presents "Future Champions of Rodeo" featuring young, exciting contestants in several different rodeo events. Special guests to include a trick riding performance by local favorite Sierra Siedlecki.
